Premium Dell Hardware
1Cyber invests heavily into best-of-breed infrastructure. Utilising Dell Rackmount Servers and Blades, we prefer to utilise proven technology which has been responsible for the high level of reliability.
Our hardware harmony means we manage and maintain our Dedicated Server infrastructure and hardware using the Dell OMSA and DRAC (Dell Remote Access Controller) systems. This software alerts us to issues with hardware before it fails allowing us to act quickly and replace it before the server becomes unresponsive.
We allow customers who have dedicated servers with us to take advantage of some of these tools as well such as the DRACs.
Data Centre
1Cyber operates services in five Data Centres around the globe. The default choice for deployment is APDC in Sydney Australia, and redundant infrastructure services in other locations.
Sydney is the largest corporate and financial centre in Australia and is also the major interconnection point for international traffic traversing to and from Australia.
Each data centre operates N+1 across all critical infrastructure with regular testing and maintenance.

Superior Network
We utilise carrier grade equipment from Juniper Networks and Cisco from the borders of our network down to the server access layer. Connecting servers out to the internet we have multiple gigabit IP transit and peering links with our subnets always advertised to a minimum of two providers.

Server Management
Managed dedicated server plans are typically designed for those who don’t have a system administrator either in-house or at call and require specific needs, that are not supported within a shared hosting environment. With a Managed dedicated server, 1Cyber can configure the set up your server and help with additional support you may require.
Self-Managed Servers
Self Managed is where you install the updates and configure all aspects of the server yourself such as Firewall’s, IDS, patches and updates.
We still assist in the Initial Setup which includes (Server Provisioning):
- Troubleshooting host server network issues
- Reverse DNS set up
Any other configuration and day to day management problems or issues will be handled by the customer directly and it is not covered under some service levels. If you would like us to troubleshoot issues (not outlined above), this will be charged at $150/hr. Basically, any issue that is is not mentioned above will be charged under custom support.
Any application level issues will be quoted individually based upon the issue or task type.
Furthermore, all third party software specific support is to be obtained directly from the relevant software vendor by the customer.

- Installation/Configuration support of DNS and MySQL.
- OS rebuilds at no additional cost (re-installation of custom components will be charged additional).
- Proactive operating system updates.
- Reverse DNS set up.
- Troubleshooting network issues.
- Advice – Our Administrators are available to provide you with advice regarding any and all server related issues or questions you have. We can provide you with recommendations regarding upgrades, performance improvements and other related questions.
Exclusions:
- The cPanel licence fee is not included in the server management fee.
- Troubleshooting of issues caused by customer misconfiguration issues and non-standard changes in configuration by customer are NOT covered under this service level and will be charged under custom support at $150/hr.
- Issues that are caused by third party software issues and bugs are not covered and need to be addressed by the customer directly by the software vendors.
- Customer application/code level issues are not covered and needs to be addressed directly by customer or their developer.
Operating Systems
CentOS
CentOS is an Enterprise Linux distribution based on the freely available sources from Red Hat Enterprise Linux. CentOS is designed for people who need an enterprise class operating system without the cost or support of the prominent North American Enterprise Linux vendor.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Red Hat Enterprise Linux is a distribution produced by Red Hat and targeted towards the commercial market, including mainframes. Red Hat solutions have been embraced across a wide variety of industries and sectors including education, financial, government, telecommunications and healthcare. Customers can count on Red Hat expertise and support at every step from deployment to development to implementation and management. Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system requires a subscription fee.
Debian
Debian uses the Linux kernel (the core of an operating system), but most of the basic OS tools come from the GNU project; hence the name GNU/Linux. Debian GNU/Linux provides more than a pure operating system; it comes with over 25113 packages, precompiled software bundled up in a nice format for easy installation on your machine. Debian is a freely-available open source operating system.
OpenSUSE
openSUSE is a free linux-based operating system. The openSUSE project is a worldwide community program sponsored by Novell that promotes the use of Linux everywhere. openSUSE includes some of the latest innovations from the open-source community and other projects in the openSUSE Project.
Ubuntu
Ubuntu is a computer operating system based on Debian GNU/Linux. Ubuntu is composed of free and open source software distributed under various licenses, especially the GNU General Public License (GPL). Ubuntu delivers a stable, fully supported and secure platform for hundreds of organisations worldwide. Ubuntu Server Edition is an energy efficient, low memory and disk footprint operating system that helps build server functions that respect our environment with no compromise on agility and versatility.
Windows Server
Microsoft provides a range of Windows based operating systems for us on Dedicated Servers. Unlike Linux operating systems, Windows Server require a license key that can be purchased via Digital Pacific or purchased on your own and provided for the installation on your new server.
